To further give awareness of the power of 3D printing technology we’ve interviewed Mr. Fred Chua, President of 3D2Go, the premier end-to-end 3D printing, modelling, scanning service in the Philippines.

The promise of 3D printing

Back in 2012, during a visit to the Hong Kong Electronics Fair, Fred Chua first laid eyes on a 3D printer. It was then that he realized it could be a good business opportunity here in the Philippines. It was unique and nobody was doing it yet in the Philippines and it had huge growth potential. He saw how it can benefit a variety of potential customers from designers, modelers, manufacturing, architectural firms, and even hobbyists. So in 2014, he officially launched 3D2Go offering services in 3D printing, scanning, prototyping, designing, modelling and post process such as sanding and coloring. For customers who want to purchase their own 3D printer/scanner, they also carry a 3D Scanning and Printing system, which is one of the most cost effective high resolution 3d scanning software available.

When asked about the benefits of 3D printing Mr. Chua had this to say, “So many, endless! It can be used for a broad range of applications. In the Dental industry, it can be used for digital archiving of teeth impressions. For the Manufacturing industry, 3D printing can do reverse engineering which is especially useful for parts replacements. In the Healthcare industry, prosthetic can be printed easily. For hobbyists, they can model practically anything!”
