12th Philippine Web Awards

Congratulations are in order, First Academy just won the Judges' Choice for Best Website in the School Category at the 12th Philippine Web Awards! The PWA, which had started way back in 1998, is an annual awarding of the best Websites created by Filipinos. With the theme of "Techno-Fiesta", this year's event was held last April 8 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium of the RCBC Plaza in Makati, complete with colorful banners and bamboo props.

Digital Art: Unleash Your Inner Creativity

I have been always drawn to digital art. It started with 2d and 3d characters on the games I played and eventually moved on with adoptables and pet site art. I still spend a lot of time browsing through finished digital artworks in DA and wonder how people can do them. I spend some time each week trying to learn more about the tools of my trade which consists of Photoshop and Paint Tool SAI. I still feel that I need to learn more and I am considering applying in a digital art school once my budget allows me to.

For any hardcore comic geek and illustration fan, Tony DeZuniga's name brings chills. He has worked on Marvel characters such as Conan the Barbarian, the X-Men and Thor. He is the co-creator of the long-running DC Comics series Jonah Hex and Black Orchid. He is also a Filipino, and a pioneer artist who helped Filipino talent to become recognized in the US in the 1970s.

NU 107 Jock Off Awards

Greyhoundz's "In Subtitles" was essentially a twisted take on love and double-take. The team took its cue from the angry feel of the song, coupled with singer Reg Rubio's in-song insistence to "Read Between the Lines." The result is a dark noir-ish story on authority figures and a seemingly-innocent harbinger of doom.
